In 1973 the co-founder of the Accor hotels Paul Dubrule bought a small sheep farm in Curcuron. There were also a few ha. of neglected vineyards.
In 1996 Dubrule stepped back from the frontline of his business and something seriously happened at Cavale. More land was bought, new cellars were constructed and vineyards were replanted. This new beginning was done in cooperation with Jean-Paul Aubert who became the manager and wine maker of the domain. In 2010 started a renovation of the cellars and other buildings in cooperation with the architect Jean-Michel Vilmotte known for his work for some famous domains in Bordeaux. In 2012 the name of the domain was changed from Domaine de la Cavale to Vignobles Paul Dubrule and since the domain in 2015 have been handed over to Dubrul's three daughters Laurel Dubrule-Lutier, Ambre Dubrule and Elйonore Mueth-Dubrule the name of the compagny is changed to Famille Paul Dubrule. The oldest daughter Laurel is the director or gйrant.
In 2015 more than 40 ha of vineyards are in production.
